RAVE presented an educational session at AUVSI XPO18 entitled “Advanced performance computing power for large data set processing.” Unmanned vehicles, regardless of their domain, are gathering vast amounts of complex data that needs to be stored, managed, and processed to have usable information in order to drive smart decision making. RAVE, an industry expert in advanced performance computing, has been designing and developing systems deployed to our customers to help manage this challenge.  read more

RAVE Computer recently attended the Intelligence Analytics Summit in Washington D.C. where the Intelligence Community (IC) focused discussion on their Big Data challenges. Key themes running throughout the 2018 summit included adopting real time analytics, leveraging social media and open source intelligence to support field operations and increasing the use of artificial intelligence and automation to increase productivity.

Data Analytics and AI are used to study complicated problems such as weapon systems acquisition, combat analysis, military training and more. GPU accelerated analytics and interactive visualization solutions provide deeper insights, enable dynamic correlation, and deliver predictive outcomes at superhuman speed, accuracy and scale. RAVE Computer has the High Performance Computing expertise to support these demands.  With bleeding edge Intel Processors and NVIDIA GPU’s, RAVE can help you find your optimal hardware solution so you can forecast possible threats and help the Warfighter make efficient and effective decisions.  Click here to learn more about RAVE's Big Data solutions.

The NVIDIA Volta GPU architecture is designed to bring AI to every industry. The Volta is the new driving force behind artificial intelligence.

With over 21 billion transistors, Volta is the most powerful GPU architecture the world has ever seen. It pairs NVIDIA® CUDA® and Tensor Cores to deliver the performance of an AI supercomputer in a GPU. Additionally, equipped with 640 Tensor Cores, Volta delivers over 100 Teraflops per second (TFLOPS) of deep learning performance, over a 5X increase compared to prior generation NVIDIA Pascal™ architecture.

Volta uses next generation revolutionary NVIDIA NVLink™ high-speed interconnect technology. This delivers 2X the throughput, compared to the previous generation of NVLink. This enables more advanced model and data parallel approaches for strong scaling to achieve the absolute highest application performance.

Volta-optimized software and GPU-accelerated frameworks and applications move your performance forward. Data scientists are often forced to make trade-offs between model accuracy and longer run-times. With Volta-optimized CUDA and NVIDIA Deep Learning SDK libraries like cuDNN, NCCL, and TensorRT, the industry’s top frameworks and applications can easily tap into the power of Volta. This propels data scientists and researchers towards discoveries faster than before.

Rick's Reflections
Rick Darter, Co-founder and CEO

Do you remember the dot-com bubble? When startup companies attracted the attention of venture capitalists who were interested in financing the startups, taking them public and, hopefully, reaping massive profits? RAVE was right in the middle of it. However, there was no interest in going public and/or selling the company, so I positioned RAVE as a trusted supplier.

The internet first became available to the general public in 1994; in early 1995 RAVE registered the domain names RAVE.com and RAVE.net – long before rave parties existed along with Rave shampoo or clothing.

Startup companies started racking and stacking huge data centers: Amazon was a startup company selling books, AOL Online was new, Yahoo started an online search engine and eBay started in 1995 as an online auction house. Hundreds of companies were starting; grew quickly backed by venture capital; and went public.  read more
