Forbes recently did a motorsports feature on one of RAVE’s customers called “How AI Powers Ford Motorsports to the Checkered Flag.” It explains how Ford is using RAVE’s NVIDIA DGX-1 to power their new Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods. THE DGX-1 has compressed a three-week process of performance improvements into a matter of hours. Click here for the article.

We can’t wait to see you at SIGGRAPH in August. We will be at booth 310 – so be sure to stop by and see our rendering and A.I. capabilities with cutting edge demos utilizing the latest NVIDIA GV100s - and our newest RENDERBEAST!

Additionally we will be speaking at 2:30 on Tuesday and Wednesday in the PNY booth (1001) on “Reving Up Your Workflow” including the three systems based on the PNY NVIDIA Quadro line: the RAVE Ultra Small Form Factor workstation, RAVE RENDERBEAST, and RAVE MOBILEBEAST VR. RAVE solutions are built to power high speed rendering and professional visualization.

This year’s conference will highlight Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques. SIGGRAPH 2018 will also offer a broad array of educational and hands-on opportunities and open the door to breakthrough technologies that will keep attendees on their game.

On July 27 RAVE will be closing its doors for the day and holding a “RAVE Gives Back” day at Gleaners Food Bank in Warren, MI.  Gleaners operates five distribution centers in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties and provides food to 499 partner soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and other agencies throughout southeastern Michigan. In 2017, Gleaners distributed more than 42 million pounds of food to neighbors in need! On average, Gleaners distributes 96,000 meals each day including providing nourishing food and nutrition education to 171,000 children a year. Every dollar donated provides three meals and 97 cents of every donated dollar goes to food.

Gene Gonya co-founded Gleaners in 1977, and it was among the first food banks in the United States. Several years after founding Gleaners, he and a few other food banks founded Second Harvest, a national network of food bank members (now called Feeding America). He also helped found the Food Bank Council of Michigan. We all look forward to the opportunity to give back to the community. Gleaners is an important part of the Detroit area.

Rick's Reflections
Rick Darter, Co-founder and CEO

I don’t remember exactly when we sold our first system into the Defense industry. Checking through old pack rat notes that I have retained the oldest customer reference I can find related to Defense are sales that we made to McDonald Douglas Aerospace and to Lockheed Martin. These notes go back to 1990/91.

I do remember the first custom systems we built very well. We were quite proud of our accomplishment. It moved RAVE up a level in both capability and recognition.  We earned more business from the same company; they referred us to their partners. From there business in the defense space continued to grow. read more

10XX NVIDIA GPU Card Update

It seems as we are encountering another potential card shortage – we wanted to give you the update. The 10XX series video cards are increasingly constrained. Currently they are still available but the cost seems to have increased by upwards of $100 a card. From what we have heard the 10xx series cards will soon be end of life.

The next version of card is the 11xx series that we are expecting to launch sometime this fall, but right now we do not know when they will be available. We’ll update you next month if there is any more information.
