RC-135V/W Rivet Joint Reconnaissance Aircraft

For many years RAVE has teamed with L3 to accomplish near real time on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities for the Air Force’s SIGINT mission. As part of this, RAVE delivered cutting-edge computer hardware solutions for Rivet Joint, with the most advanced long-life systems.

RAVE’s custom designed workstations met specific and challenging aircraft requirements, and these systems are used in both aircraft and groundstations today. These workstations are lightweight and short depth - they also meet single phase 90-264VAC, 47-440Hz power requirements.  RAVE, in concert with L3 and USAF engineers, developed solutions that solved size, weight, and power challenges that drove significant performance gains.

RAVE’s integration procedures were added to include commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) equipment for added stability.  A variety of RAVE systems are installed in multiple locations on the aircraft.

We invite you to come see RAVE at I/ITSEC this November at booth 700.

We will be featuring hardware products that are designed for your training and simulations needs. From high performance compute, to rendering, to virtualization, to storage, RAVE will be featuring solutions that can improve training and real-life simulation with data analysis and professional visualization capabilities.

Talk to us about RMF Jump-start, a Cybersecurity compliance program to get a system on the path to obtaining an Authority-to-Operate (ATO) designation from the moment computer hardware is purchased - it is powered by RAVE and secured by Cybernet. The RMF Jump-start program alleviates the often complex scenarios introduced by RMF so companies can focus on what matters most: developing state-of-the-art systems on-schedule and on-budget.

Be sure to check out our new RENDERBEAST, miniBEAST, and storage and server solutions - as well as our virtualization demo showing how you can start consolidating hardware and increasing flexibility in your T&S deployments.  We’ll show you how we can customize your hardware solutions so you can turn data into actionable knowledge faster and bring your training to the Point of Need.

Late last month NVIDIA held their GPU Technology Conference in the DC area driving adoption of advanced computing by the Federal Government.  RAVE was proud to participate in the event.

One of the highlights of the conference was the Women in AI session which featured representatives from across the Fed speaking to current use cases of AI in their organizations.  The US government, perhaps led by the DOD, is moving forward with adoption of these pivotal, game changing technologies that can drive efficiency and actionable information for decision makers. RAVE is supporting the DOD community today with advanced compute power for C4ISR, high fidelity simulators, R&D labs, portable/semi-rugged requirements, and enterprise data center and workstation applications.

The story behind the brand.

Through RAVE’s 30 years in business we have sold products produced by hundreds of various vendors, both at the system and component levels.  At one time RAVE’s system level focus was on being a Value Added Reseller (VAR): a reseller of products produced by other manufacturers. RAVE’s expertise was custom configuring the systems to meet specific customer requirements, including hardware and software.

To differentiate ourselves from other VARs that sold the same products, RAVE adopted the practice of adding additional customization. We accomplished this by adding enhancements that were available from “third party vendors” who offered compatible solutions.

As an example, Sun Microsystems produced a very popular system at the time called a SPARC 2. Weitek, a chip-design company, had developed a product called the SPARC Power up. It was a pin compatible replacement for Sun’s CPU which ran at twice the clock speed, enhancing the systems processing speed by 50-60 percent. This is similar to the concept of “overclocking,” except that it was a replacement chip versus fine tuning an existing one.  read more

People often are unfamiliar with the advanced capabilities NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards bring to professional visualization applications.

Professional VR can now be portable- RAVE offers several options for portable high-performance systems with one or two NVIDIA Quadro RTX GPUs installed.

The advanced tracking equipment included with the Vive Pro VR System can support VR room scale up to 20’ x 20.’ Now with the Vive Wireless Adapter you can untether your HMD and experience even deeper immersion.  It’s Li-ion battery and 600 GHz+ transmission rate provide true freedom in VR.

Powerful NVIDIA NVLINK support in RAVE’s MobileBEAST VR allows up to two NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 or RTX 6000 GPUs to be connected to combine their GPU memory and share the workload, offering up to twice the rendering performance and frame buffer of a single GPU.  Higher frame rates can dramatically increase the immersion of virtual environments.

Quadro cards also offer features for professional visualization that are not available in consumer products, such as nVIEW desktop management software, Mosaic for spanning applications across multi-display arrays, and NVIDIA Quadro SYNC for synchronizing the output from multiple systems in advanced visualization environments.

Quadro cards can even be installed in servers to support the many complex visual workloads that require significantly higher levels of GPU horsepower as well as high-end GPU visualization and compute to multiple users across the network.
